2025 Junior Structure
Dear parents and guardians,
You will note a change in competition structure.
In 2025, Football South Australia is embarking on an exciting new chapter with the introduction of the Youth Girls Club Championship (YCC). This will be considered an elite league that will reward players with a competitive competition against other elite players. The YCC will also feature a Final Series as we see with our Women's National Premier League. This will include four age groups: U13, U14, U15 & U16.
Football South Australia Technical Department will integrate with our Junior Technical Director and this will have a flow on effect with our coaching staff.
The current Junior Girls League (RED, BLUE and PURPLE) will be renamed to Youth Girls State League (YSL). The colours will be replaced with A, B, C. This competition will include U12, U13, U14 & U15. Players participating in the YSL may have an opportunity to be promoted to a YCC team, however this will only be during a prescribed window during the season. There will not be any regular free movement.
At this stage there will still be an U17 league. We won't know how many clubs will nominate a team until the conclusion of club trials.
Football South Australia Technical Department wants to aim for every player to play within their required age group. Our trials will focus on making sure we can adhere to this however this will be at the discretion of our Junior Technical Director, Marcelo Vilches and designated coaches.
Next season will be a big change for all clubs. It helps that we have some really good people on board to help navigate this new chapter.
